My Brown Child was created as an early learning resource for children.

We BELIEVE that brown children, ALL children, perform at their best, when they are regularly exposed to positive images and people who they can easily identify with, that also look like themselves.

We UNDERSTAND that, when we invest in our children, we will see the benefit 100 fold in their future. The academic excellence, life lessons, character and self-esteem building, will help contribute to well-rounded adults, who will then pass on that knowledge to future generations.

We encourage PURPOSEFUL PLAY! Recreational time that is meaningful and contributes to the benefit, well being and academic success of the whole child.

Our Mission

At My Brown Child, we believe that educating our children is a top priority for many parents of brown children, but there may be multiple factors that may affect a parents ability to help motivate their children beyond mediocrity, which has become an unfortunate benchmark  for brown children of various ethnicities.

Busy  parents who undertake the educating of their children at home will realize that they don’t have to spend huge amounts of time to be a successful guide to their child,  but they will need to be consistent, patient and understand that having fun is a MUST! (children learn fastest and easiest when having fun)

Our goal is to provide our readers with instant access to the most effective at home teaching strategies, materials, books, media, and manipulatives without having to scour the internet . . .or spend a fortune.  By connecting families with the necessary educational resources and opportunities, parents will be better equipped with tools that  prepare, empower and inspire their brown child  toward academic excellence!
